Roulette is somewhat unique amongst modern table games in that it employs a mechanical device as the key element of the game.

The Goal in Poker

Poker is a game that is played all over the world. It can be found in many forms and guises, sometimes with just two cards in your hand, and sometimes online.

Sometimes there is a draw and sometimes there is not. Sometimes the game can be found in the kitchen table of your Grandma’s house, and others on the biggest stage of all: The World Series of Poker.

Amateurs play it and professionals play it, and they both love and hate it in equal measures.

But what is the point of poker? There are many subtle reasons why poker exists. The first is to provide entertainment. People just love playing the game; it is a social event that gets the mind working.

Secondly, it is played because it is a gambling game. There is money that can be won, and lost, and it is this excitement that becomes its main draw.

But what is the goal? It does not matter what type of poker you are playing the goal is always the same: to make the correct decision each and every time

The uneducated amongst you may think that the goal is to make money, but the making of money is a red herring when it comes to the goal, the purpose; the whole damn point.

Poker, especially Omaha Poker, is a game that combines both skill and luck, and this means that you can earn money by playing badly in the short term. If you are happy with this then you will almost certainly lose money in the long term.

So, even if your goal is to make money, you can’t consistently make it without making the right decisions. Remember the goal.
